Second Impressions
After watching the second episode, I'm not so sure how I feel about John. He was picked as the strongest swimmer, but he didn't really do that good. It was like he gave up after Jaison beat him to the key. When he came out of the water, instead of running he pretty much walked. I still feel the same about him, except I don't think his chances of winning are as high. John doesn't really seem to be a team player, and tries to do everything statistically and plan everything out first. He's obviously the pretty boy on the team, and I think the others are starting to notice. I think we judge people so quickly because it's human nature. I think people feel inadequate about their selves, so they're quick to judge other people first. People seem to know they are being judged, so they do the same thing back. I like watching Survivor in class. You get to see how others respond to being on a team, but competing individually and with a team. Russell makes it clear that it is a game of emotions, and he used that as his strategy to try and win. I think it's an effective way to see how people respond to situations like this.
